his inventory of over 1,100 fraktur artists is a working draft derived from the literature of the field. The information is not independently researched and so errors are certainly possible. The column entitled Sources notes whether sources include black and white (b/w) and color illustrations. I list only a few of the major published references. Follow up these entries in the Fraktur Bibliography elsewhere on the site. Complete citations for them all can be found there.
You may retrieve the complete artist inventory by searching on a blank author field.

Researchers would be well advised to obtain their own copy of the authoritative source, Papers for Birth Dayes, Guide to the Fraktur Artists and Scriveners, by Corrine P. and Russell D. Earnest (PO Box 1132, Clayton, DE 19938). This two-volume work includes much more complete information about individual artists. For other basic reference sources, see Fraktur Top Ten, elsewhere on the site.
Beta test! In cooperation with the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center, I have provided selected examples of artists' work with their data entries. All illustrations derive from the Schwenkfelder Library collection and, thus, there is a preponderance of Schwenkfelder artists represented.
